Best Films of Total Films Life: Part 1

Original article can be found here.

50. The Departed (2006)
49. Children of Men (2006)
48. Good Will Hunting (1997)
47. Eyes Wide Shut (1999)

I saw The Departed a couple of years ago, I don't remember much of what happened but I do remember thinking it was good. Admittedly I only watched it because I knew Mark Wahlberg was in it. (The Departed review)
Children of Men is one of my favourite films, love the plot and the characters. I've only seen it three times but it's definitely a film I won't tire of seeing.

46. Blue Valentine (2010)
45. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007)
44. Drive (2011)
43. Y Tu Mamá Tabién (2001)

I haven't seen any of these but a few people I know are obsessed with Ryan Gosling so I've heard a lot about Blue Valentine and Drive.

42. Up (2009)
41. The New World (2005)
40. The Truman Show (1998)
39. Casino Royale (2006)

I really loved UP, I thought it was so heart-warming but I definitely don't think it's much of a children's film. I've only seen the Truman Show once and it was quite a while ago, I think I liked it I just remember feeling so sorry for him not knowing that his whole life was a lie.

I'm not sure if I've said this before but I've not seen a James Bond film with Daniel Craig (please don't hate me).

38.American Beauty (1999)
37. Before Sunset (2004)
36. Side Ways (2004)
35. Let The Right One In (2009)

I watched American Beauty as part of my course in sixth form, and I absolutely loved it, I've only seen it once though so I must watch it again. This is the film that got me crushing on Kevin Spacey.

Let the Right One in is another one of my all time favourite films, it was an impulse buy on one of my many HMV trips. I've read the book as well, I can't remember which one I did first but like most adaptations the book is a lot better and more ambiguous.

34. Out of Sight (1998)
33. The Social Network (2010)
32. Spirited Away (2001)
31. In The Mood For Love (2000)

Spirited Away is and will forever be in my top 10.

30. Shaun of The Dead (2004)
29. Gladiator (2000)
28. Brokeback Mountain (2005)
27. Boogie Nights (1997)

I've seen Shaun of the Dead way too many times for my liking (and Hot Fuzz). I've only seen Gladiator a 3 or 4 times, I like it but it always makes me feel so sad and for some reason I always manage to catch the final scene when it shows on TV.

As you know I love Mark Wahlberg so the fact that I have never actually seen Boogie Nights is a disgrace. Must watch it asap!!

26. The Big Lebowski

Nope not seen this. Don't even know what it's about.
