Recent Projects - For His Sake

So if you read this post you'll know that I went to Liverpool back in February to film my final year university production and you may also know I didn't really have a good time there. Thinking about it now that it's not so recent I can't help think about the good times that I had and the amazing people I met. Everything is a leaning curve and I wouldn't change anything that happened.

We handed in our finished copy sometime in March but I'm not sure when I'll be able to post the finished version here, so in the mean time here's some stills from the film.

(The actors in these images are Vikki Earle, Tao Wignall and Samira Saeed)

I'm A Stranger Here Myself - Video

So here is the official version of our 90-second film, what did you think?

I had such a great time and it was an amazing experience to shoot produce, shoot and edit something in such a short space of time. This task was umarked but we were told we had to work under 5 obstructions:
- 2 hours pre-production
- 2 hours shooting
- 2 hours post-production
- All set in a studio
- No more than 90 seconds
Our pre-production ran from a little after 8am to a little after 10am, although our (the crew) day started at 7.30am so that we could go to the local shop and buy food for everyone. The shoot started just after 10am and ran for two hours while post-production started around 1pm or 1.30pm after we'd had a long break.

Don't forget to let me know what you think, and check out this post for behind the scenes photos!

"I'm A Stranger Here Myself" - Production Photos

Three weeks ago I started my third and final year at university. We were given the first assignment for my year long production module in the first week, we had to make a short film under 5 obstructions, in the style of Lars Von Trier's film Five Obstructions.

- 2 hours pre-production
- 2 hours shooting
- 2 hours post-production
- All set in a studio
- No more than 90 seconds

We spent Saturday morning and early afternoon completing our task, despite an insanely early start at 7.30 I had the most amazing time on set and we worked with a fantastic crew. Here are some of the pictures I took during the shoot and I'll show you the finished film in a couple of days.

Louis Lagayette
Benjamin Skyrme and Alexandra Agass
Michael Koltes, Noor Lawson, Raphael Ruiz, Jamie Criss, Rachel Halfpenny and Jessica Wilson
All images belong to me, please do not use without my permisson.

Things I've Made- #1 Surreal Film

So I thought I'd do a small series of posts dedicated to the short films I've made so this first one is a short surrealist film I made in my final year at sixth form. Now with this one when I say made I mean edited along with one other person in my group and it took an incredibly long time.
The guy in the film (Connor) was also part of my group and stepped in at the last minute during filming to replace the other guy we were using.
The editing isn't completely prefect but that's the effect we were going for, so I think it looks pretty darn good. My two favourites things the random touches of colour which is mainly orange and the scene with Connor banging on the window trying to get the Chloe's attention.

What did you think of it?
