Jennifer's Body (Karyn Kusama, 2009)

Cast: Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Johnny Simmons, J.K Simmons, Kyle Gallner, Adam Brody

Summary: Jennifer is a gorgeous, seductive cheerleader who takes evil to a new level after she's possessed by a sinister demon. The male student body succumbs to Jennifer’s insatiable appetite for human flesh. Now it's up to her best friend to stop Jennifer’s reign of terror before it’s too late.

Genre: Comedy, Horror

I wasn’t entirely sure about what to expect from this film when I started watching it. I had never seen Amanda Seyfried in anything before but my main concern was Megan Fox, having seen her performance in Transformers (2007), well what little acting there was didn't impress me.

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this film and mainly because Fox’s acting was actually pretty good. Don’t get me wrong the acting as a whole was very good but it was definitely Fox that impressed me the most. It was refreshing to actually see her acting instead than just running around screaming “Sam”.

The film's genre is black comedy horror, but the thing that lets it down the most is the horror aspect or lack of it. There's far more comedy in the film then horror and maybe that's the way it's supposed to be, but the "horror" it does have isn't even enough to scare a fly. I think making it maybe a little bit more gruesome would have made the film just that little bit better.
Jennifer's Body (2009) Still My favourite scene is definitely the final sequence and the end credits, I just love the way it's done and I think it's a great way to end the film. Plus that 'Low Shoulder' song Through The Trees is actually pretty good.

My Rating: 9/10
One Final Word: Excellent
