Film | In the Cinema - February


Hey guys so I’ve decided to split this month's In The Cinema in half because there’s so many goodies being released so look out for part two in the next few weeks.

February 1

The Punk Syndrome – A film about Finland's most kick-ass punk rock band, Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät whose band members are mentally handicapped.

Flight – An airline pilot saves a flight from crashing, but an investigation into the malfunctions reveals something troubling.

Hyde Park on Hudson – The story of the love affair between FDR and his distant cousin Margaret "Daisy" Suckley, centered around the weekend in 1939 when the King and Queen of the United Kingdom visited upstate New York.

Stand Up Guys - A pair of aging con men try to get the old gang back together for one last hurrah before one of the guys takes his last assignment -- to kill his comrade.

Bullet To The Head – After watching their respective partners die, a New Orleans hitman and a Washington D.C. detective form an alliance in order to bring down their common enemy.

Do Elephants Pray – The life of advertising executive Callum Cutter is thrown into poetic chaos when he meets the free-spirited French seductress Malika who promises to change his life forever, providing he keeps her identity a secret.

Bullhead – A young cattle farmer is approached by a veterinarian to make a deal with a notorious beef trader.

All Stars – Two kids look to throw an ambitious dance show in order to save their struggling youth center.

Antiviral – After becoming infected with the virus that killed superstar Hannah Geist, Syd March must unravel the mystery surrounding her death to save his own life.

Chained – A cab-driving serial killer stalks his prey on the city streets alongside his reluctant protégé Tim, who must make a life or death choice between following in his footsteps or breaking free from his captor.


February 8

Hitchcock – A love story between influential filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock and wife Alma Reville during the filming of Psycho in 1959.

I Give It A Year – A look at the trials and tribulations of a pair of newlyweds during their first year as a married couple.

No – An ad executive comes up with a campaign to defeat Augusto Pinochet in Chile's 1988 referendum.

Warm Bodies – After R saves Julie from an attack, the two form a relationship that sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world.

Wreck-It Ralph – A video game villain wants to be a hero and sets out to fulfill his dream, but his quest brings havoc to the whole arcade where he lives.

I Wish – 12-year-old Koichi, who has been separated from his brother Ryunosuke due to his parents' divorce, begins to believe that the new bullet train service will create a miracle when the first trains pass each other at top speed.


February 13

Beautiful Creatures – Ethan longs to escape his small Southern town. He meets a mysterious new girl, Lena. Together, they uncover dark secrets about their respective families, their history and their town.
