Outfit | Noa

Just a quick outfit post on another piece from my Mint Velvet work uniform. I'm definitely a jeans and a t-shirt, blouse or jumper girl, don't get me wrong I love wearing a skirt and a dress but more often than not you'll find me traipsing about in a pair of jeans; especially at work. That all changed (albeit briefly) when this dress came in at work. Let me introduce you to the Noa Dress.

I fell in love with the print and the style as soon as I saw it which luckily for me just happened to be the day it was delivered to our store. I think I bought the dress as uniform sometime in July or August (which is when these pictures were taken, I know a long time ago) but I've only worn the dress to work about two times much to the dismay of my manager.

I really do love the dress but I felt uncomfortable working in it especially when walking up and down stairs all day.
There are also two other tops in the Noa collection, the Noa Print Double Layer Top and the Noa Print Side Ruched Top.
You can read more about the story of the Noa Print in the Mint Velvet Magazine here.

The End of an Era, Well 3 Years

So it's official. Well it's been official for a month but I'm only just getting round to writing this post, but I finally finished university on April 30th and I graduate on July 16th!

April was jam packed for me what with writing an 8000 word dissertation, a 2000 word essay, visiting friends and family and celebrating my 21st birthday, so I took the first 2 weeks of April off work to give me a bit of extra free time to get everything done.

Fast forward a few tears and panics I had finally finished my dissertation, but actually submitting it was a BIG BIG hassle. First the file was too big to submit online; secondly when I went to print it the printer I used somehow managed to change the font to an Arial 9 and the rest Arial 12.
After a panicked phonecall to my dad, he resent me the file and I ran to a different shop to print it out (which ended up being a lot cheaper, although quite a bit longer), before running to Rymans to get it bound for a lovely £3.69.

Thankfully I didn't get caught up in the tube strikes when I made my way to submit my bound copy an HOUR before the deadline (which I was amazed by, seeing as I don't live close).

I thought that was the end of it until. The day after I almost had a heart attack when I received an email from my supervisor saying that I failed to submit my bound copy. She thought it was strange that I wouldn't submit work and not email her if there was a problem. I told her I did indeed submit it and she managed to find it a couple of hours later... right where I submitted it, in the drop box where it was supposed to be submitted. I mean honestly.

OOTD | Uniform #4

Cool Blue Drape Knit Tunic, Mint Velvet - £17.25 | Black Coated Jeggings, Mint Velvet - £19.50 | Knitted Cuff Boots, New Look - Gift

I actually quite like these shots, they were taken some time in January with and insanely cool Canon 60D that I took out from uni to test. I'm saving up for a DSLR as I'm sick of continuously getting blurry photos on my Samsung Bridge camera.

Anyway onto the outfit. This is more of my work uniform. I brought the top in January and I love it, the only two downsides are that the sleeves are sometimes quite itchy and you can't really wear it without something underneath as it's very see through. I bought the trousers were brought in the sale I thought it was about time to buy some seeing as though I don't own any black trousers. The only downside with these is that despite getting 8R they're still short for my legs.

Outfit | Uniform #3

Quilted Sleeve Jacket, Primark - £25 | Wine Snood, Primark - £5 | Black Ivory Blocked Tee, Mint Velvet - £14.75 | Indigo Boyfriend Jeans, Mint Velvet - £14.75 | Chelsea Boots, Primark - £10

I had forgotten that I started doing posts on what I wear for work. You can see the first two here & here.

I've worn this look a few times but I've stopped recently as it made me feel to boxy, I love the top but I feel more comfortable wearing it with my skinny jeans but they have holes in them now form my persistent wearing. I'm waiting until the new year when my new allowance kicks in so I can buy me a new pair.
I don't love these boyfriend jeans as much as I did when I bought them. There's nothing wrong with them the problem is with me and how to wear them, so I've been searching through the blogosphere to find bloggers that have styled them to my liking.

P.S. As you can probably tell by reading this, I've had this in my drafts for a while oops

OOTD: Uniform #1

Indigo Double Zip Jeans, Mint Velvet - £17.25 | Honey Wrap Back Tee, Mint Velvet - £13.75 | Shoes, Linzi - £12

So here's the first of another new feature on the ol' blog, specifically for my work uniform. There's only a couple of pictures with this one as I wasn't happy with the other images.

I really love this top as it has this gorgeous open back, although it is a little big (I bought the size 10 as the 8 had sold out) so I'm always worried that everyone can see down my top when I lean forward. It's currently in the sale so if you like it go buy it before it sells out, it also comes in Aqua.
